Here's a message from the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City about one thing they are doing to give back to frontline members in the region: "Healthcare workers and First Responders are on the front line in Eastern Oregon, protecting us from a new and scary global pandemic. 6. Destination Analysts (a west coast based tourism marketing research firm) just released the most recent findings from its Coronavirus Travel Sentiment Index Report, April 6. Some of the key findings are summarized below,
* More travel was affected in the last week: now, 72.8% of respondents say they have had travel affected by the coronavirus situation. 65.3% cancelled a trip, the highest rate in the last four weeks. There is an uptick in cancellations reported in May and June.
* The percentage of respondents confident coronavirus will be resolved by the summer travel season plummeted to 31%.
* 53.1% of American travelers say they expect they will be traveling in the fall. The percent who say they have trip plans in September and later in 2020 has ticked up.
* Even more travelers say they miss traveling this week: 69.1% can't wait to travel again, up from 63% last week.
* Half of American travelers (49.8%) say they will avoid crowded destinations in the six-month period after the pandemic ends.[cid:image001.png at 01D60D99.DF21F3F0]
