1. As you've likely heard, COVID-19 is spreading at an alarming rate in both rural and urban Oregon. Doctors and public health experts have made it clear that we can reduce the spread of the disease by wearing face coverings while out and about in public.
To be able to protect the health and safety of Oregonians, we need to raise awareness about the importance of wearing face coverings - and we need to do it now.
Governor Kate Brown's office has created a toolkit of nearly 70 social media graphics (click here <https://govstatus.egov.com/or-covid-19-social-media-toolkits> to access them). There are a wide range of images, themes, and tones, so feel free to use what makes sense for you, your community, and your audience.
Thanks for doing your part in fighting the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon.
1. The Senate passed an extension of the Paycheck Protection Program, extending the deadline to apply through August 8 (it was scheduled to sunset yesterday). It now goes to the President for signature. Will keep you posted. Downtown Oregon City Association did apply and received approval for funding so if the extension is signed by the President then it might be something to consider for your organization's operation if you are a 501c3.
1. Pro Bono Coaching assistance: ICF Oregon Charter Chapter is sponsoring the Pro Bono Coaching Initiative to pair coaches with nonprofit leaders. Thanks to EJ for sharing the info! Here's a link for more info about the program: https://icforegon.org/page-1861800
1. What Happens to Public Space When Everything Moves Outside
As restaurants and bars dramatically expand their outdoor seating, questions are emerging about who gets to occupy the streets.
