1. Payroll Protection Program - extended to August 8th. Applications opened again on Monday. This is something to consider for 501c3 nonprofits as well.
2. Reminder that the Oregon Main Street Downtown Excellence nominations are due on July 12th. Applications and info can be found by clicking on the Main Street portal on our website (www.oregonmainstreet.org<http://www.oregonmainstreet.org>)
3. Community Round-ups:
* Woodburn restaurants are opening up however fear lingers about potential re-closing. Restaurants have instituted a lot of recommended measures like lines on floors, removing tables, no preset service or condiments on tables, Plexiglas or table barriers at registers. They do have a plaza close by for outdoor dining. Deployed $48K in grants for small businesses.
* Lakeview mask wearing go off to a rough start. Chamber and LCP staff went door to door to businesses checking in on how they can assist with keeping businesses vital. LCP also owns the movie theater which has been closed. Did a Curbside Craving Popcorn Extravaganza as part of 4th Fireworks and raised $1200.
* Beaverton the city has assisted with blocking off parking spaces for outdoor seating which has been going well. Either today or tomorrow they will be blocking off a street for outdoor dining with a covered seating area. Fundraising effort to cover part of the costs above what the city had allocated.
* Alberta has a couple small parklets in front of businesses and are looking at street closure but it is challenging for their district. Starting to re-engage with ZoomGives fundraising platform. We had a speaker at our spring network meeting on the ZoomGives platform. You can view this presentation by registering at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5514372276778749964
* ZoomGives begins at around 2:03.
Alberta has also started their Summer of Alberta livestreaming activities including a band, art classes, etc. these activities will be posted to their Youtube channel.
* Albany was successful in moving their spring clean-up to a "put together your team" event with 3 separate groups doing their own projects and posting before/afters on social media. ADA rewarded with downtown gift certificates. Crazy Days is happening as a self-directed event using blocked off parking spaces but with less interactive activities for kids. Focus is more on downtown shopping experience this year.
* Bandon is going to do a downtown business walkabout to check in on how they are doing and what assistance they might need.
* Klamath Falls had a "reverse parade" in celebration of 4th of July. Floats were parked down the middle of the street and cars could drive by them. Very popular event!
1. Resources/Info Needed
* Anyone had any experience in street closure for outdoor dining on state highways? A couple communities are needing this info.
* Sources for Face Shields? Some suggestions:
* Check with your County Public Health. Most have them or know a resource.
* There is a company making face shields in West Linn. Rebecca will look for the contact info.
* Business Oregon has a "Supply Connector" resource for PPE - should be able to find several places to get face shields. https://supplyconnector.org/states/oregon/
