Reinventing Rural is an online community focused on helping rural places embrace their rugged culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Stay tuned for updates, new features, and helpful tools. We had planned to launch in the Fall and then stuff changed and we launched early.  There are a lot of great resources and workshops coming online soon.


RR is a collaborative effort of Foundry Collective, Rural Development Initiatives, Kelly Nonprofit Consulting and many partners. RR is made possible by a generous grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and supported by Business Oregon, and others.

Yes, we are Imagine Dragon fans but no, we did not name our 5-part workshop after their song of the same name. We named this workshop series "Whatever it Takes" because so many small businesses have been doing just that to keep the doors open and provide for their customers.

Many innovators and small business owners have made hard decisions and changed their business model in ways they never expected.  This workshop series will help you to look at the actions you took (and didn't take) through a new customer-centric lens. It is our sincere hope that these workshops will help you better rebound and create a stronger, more resilient business.

While designed for rural small businesses, this workshop series will benefit anyone who is looking to become more customer-centric including  urban small businesses, innovators, solo-preneurs, nonprofits, artisans, creators, and more.
