The attached staff report to our UR Commission proposes changes to the District’s assistance programs. It was approved in June 2019 and implemented in August of 2019. Also the link below contains the application forms, which are continually evolving. The most recent changes added a requirement for applicant’s to identify the total project cost and the amount of grant and loan funding requested. We also added an example monthly loan payment for a $100,000 loan. These changes were added to help applicant’s think about how their projects would be financed and staff manage applicant and consultant project expectations. BTW, EcoNorthwest and Civilis Consulants helped us pull this off and they both performed wonderfully!

Hello Everyone,

We work very closely with our Urban Renewal and wanted to reach out to other communities with Urban Renewal Programs. We are hoping to learn about how your grants are split for match and maximum amounts, if you have a maximum. Some of our commissioners believe that there should be a cap on the maximum grant allowable for façade restoration (for example), however our committees think slightly differently.

This has been an ongoing conversation so I am reaching out to see how other Urban Renewal Grants are structured to provide additional support or expertise to the discussion.
