We are looking forward to two days focused on successes and challenges of collaborations and some practical steps to take when embarking on your own collaborations and partnerships. Summit Highlights:
* Be inspired by Keynote Trina Michelle Robinson's story of exploring her family's enslaved ancestry, their liberation, and migration to Chicago. Her mission is to help people of all backgrounds connect to one another through storytelling, with the hope we can see ourselves in each other. She will also discuss how collaboration supported her research and her work.
* Be energized by Collaboration Success! Stories moderated by Brian Wagner and includes Southern Oregon University's Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project, Albany Downtown Association's Drive-Up Downtown, Cottage Grove's Disaster Resilience Plan for Heritage Resources project, Baker City's Cultural Passport, and High Desert Museum's cultural responsive collections management project.
* Be empowered to expand your work with the Collaboration Workshop which will cover how to plan, initiate, and manage successful collaborations and partnerships. This session is facilitated by The Community Tool Box that helps organizations find a pathway to successful and sustainable collaborations. The Community Tool Box is used by more than 5 million people in 200+ countries each year, containing thousands of free resources supporting community development efforts. Join us for this field-tested and practical Community Tool Box training.
* Be motivated by Oregon Heritage Excellence Award winners. Introduced by Oregon Heritage Commission chair, Chelsea Rose, videos will highlight their wonderful achievements. Thanks to Oregon Historical Society for sponsoring the awards this year!
* Be the beginning of something great at the Latino Heritage Preservation: Building a Network pre-conference session. Desiree Aranda and Sara Delgadillo Cruz with Latin at s in Heritage Conservation will facilitate the session to kick-off a statewide conversation about coordinating efforts to preserve and promote Oregon's Latino heritage. Register for this free session separately from the Oregon Heritage Summit registration.
* And for the icing on the cake - all registrants will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win a free resource!
