Kelly – one other thought is to work with the City since you are a Certified Local Government. This type of project would qualify for the CLG Grant if the timing works…Sheri

Great suggestion Don, thank you!
Thank you for the Distrix suggestions as well!

In our case, we aren't promoting businesses, but rather our historic resources and the cemetery.
So, I'm liking the low cost idea for this one, as there'll be no supporting funds coming in.

in The Dalles, we started using QR Codes, first for "Spooky town 2020" ghost story tours.
And we plan to extend then "coding" using a window sticker in each address in the main street overlay.
The QR Codes take people to youTube videos that we have created.
There are also Qr Codes that take people to stories and content on our main street web site, one or more of which in future will be a walking map of sites

so, no cost version of walking tours

ALSO, you can create your own walking maps in GOOGLE maps and share them publicly.
and you can also use QR Codes to get people to those google maps

we are low budget scrappy and have some staff technical skills

have fun

I do believe DISTRIX helps with walking tours? It’s a app that has many other Main Streets listed with downtown businesses and has a list of what type of business. I do believe for a cost you can set up walking tours through this app.

Hi All,
I know there's been discussion about walking tours, in the past. Does anyone have recommendations for what they've used for hosting companies, software, web pages etc?
Not actually sure where to start...

Thanks very much!
