Oregon Main Street "Open Door" Pitch Contest
Our Oregon Main Street Network organizations help create inclusive and welcoming environments that make all feel that they belong and are invited into the community. We want to encourage and support these efforts! Do you have a project or idea on your work plan to make your downtown or organization more welcoming that you just haven't been able to move forward due to a lack of funding resources?
Here's your opportunity to receive a $5,000 grant to implement your idea.
Here's the Details
1. Eligible Applicant: Local Oregon Main Street Organization
1. Application Process
* Round 1 - Idea submission due by Thursday, September 1, 2022, 5:00 p.m. Click Here<https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/232dd9e26dab46ebbb0d94093b3f8ff6> to apply.
* Round 2 - Applicants moving on to the next round will be notified by September 2, 2022.
You will have one month to put together your pitch and present in person at the closing plenary of the Oregon Main Street Conference in Klamath Falls. The pitch can be as creative as you like to get across the importance of the project to meeting your goals for creating a more welcoming downtown: a video, skit, presentation or more!
1. Selection Process
* A panel of experts will comment on the projects during the pitch presentation.
* The audience will vote on the project they would like to see funded.
1. Requirements
* Selected Applicants moving to Round 2 are required to make the pitch presentation in-person at the 2022 Oregon Main Street Conference on October 7, 2022
* Project must be completed by June 30th, 2023
* Winning applicant must be available to present at the 2023 Oregon Main Street Conference
1. Eligible Projects
We want to see the creativity your organization has to make your downtown or organization more welcoming. Types of projects or activities might include:
* Placemaking project to make your downtown welcoming to all
* Partnership development to strengthen relationships or bring new partners to the table
* Volunteer expansion and outreach efforts
* Events or marketing to audiences that build community and strengthen relationships
* Business support for women and minority owned businesses

Strongest applications will demonstrate how your idea meets your organizational goals to be more welcoming and inviting and that you have the capacity to complete the project by June 30, 2023.
