[OMS_MANAGERS] Fwd: OCED Resources, Survey & Next Course Info

Hey all,

This morning on the Mornings on Main call we talked about the Change
Management course through SHPO and EcDev 101 Course last week through OEDA.
There was interest in sharing the material from the OEDA course and this
recap came through this afternoon so I thought I would share!

For those not on the call this morning, Cassie and I both recapped our
takeaways from the Change Management course and then Stephanie and I talked
about our experience at the OEDA course, and I realized that I had a
revelation about how I'm communicating change and planning strategically. I
took the information from the Change Management course on communication and
the information from the OEDA course on Strategic Planning and combined the
two to work on a fairly controversial topic of building public downtown
restrooms. I broke out the change into each decision point and then created
a survey to elicit feedback from the business community on each of those
decision points. It helped a lot in getting those business owners to
understand what goes into each project, each decision point, and got some
naysayers to say "i'm still against them, but I guess I can see how public
restrooms would be helpful and that you're thinking about all the bad stuff
that could happen" so I call it a win! I think the combination of the two
different trainings melted something in my brain that might end up being
super helpful so feel free to check out the information for yourself!
