Save the Date: The Oregon Main Street Conference is Oct 5-7 in Klamath Falls. The OMS conference is a great opportunity to re-evaluate your work and consider new opportunities for improving your historic downtown or traditional commercial neighborhood district. From the dynamic and engaging sessions and plenaries to the informal, energizing conversations had in-between, attendees leave with fresh ideas and renewed passion for the impactful work you are doing or inspired to get started. We are so honored that Mary Means, the founder of the Main Street Movement, will be our keynote speaker at our Excellence on Main awards. We will be posting conference information soon on our website.

Brought to you in partnership with Main Street America and Smart Growth America, the T-Mobile Hometown Grant program provides grants of up to $50,000 to help build stronger, more prosperous small towns and rural communities!

Towns with 50,000 people or less can apply for a grant of up to $50K to fund projects to build, rebuild, or refresh community spaces that help foster local connections in your community. For example, you could implement tech upgrades at your library, refresh a local park, or break ground on a new place where neighbors can connect. Economic Development Agency
A recent report from the Brookings Institute about the reauthorization of the EDA makes a strong case for the Main Street Movement. Our future must be built around inclusive growth, robust entrepreneurial ecosystems, and increased quality of life.
"(T)he future of work is reinventing downtowns, Main Streets, and other commercial corridors throughout regions. The geography of economic growth and opportunity is shifting, and rather than fuel more economic winners and losers from these dynamics, the federal government can use improved policies and investments to better enable leaders in every region, office, and commercial corridor to adapt and keep pace with the changing rules of the digital economy. In other words, the time is ripe to make wider and more resilient geographic prosperity a real possibility."
