Tigard’s liquor store has been supportive to our organization with sponsorships, participation, and as Kelly points out a huge driver of traffic. I don’t believe there are a lot of customer visits to other shops at the time of sale, however would not doubt their customer base is supportive at other visits.

They however do NOT like street closures which negatively impacts their revenues.

Also participate in façade improvement grants and the newest owner has made vast improvements to the interior. Looking at the Pandemic, their business was very popular with restaurant and dining impacted closures.

We have one smack in the middle of Main Street. They drive a lot of foot traffic!

Does anyone else have a liquor store downtown? Or an ordinance making it an unallowable use?

OLCC just approved a liquor store in Oregon City and because of our mixed use code, the liquor store will be moving into one of our best retail spots in downtown. It's probably too late to do anything about this one - the City Commission even disapproved their license for a downtown location and the OLCC overrode it - but my EV committee is interested in seeing if there were any other communities that have dealt with this or found a good solution.

Thanks!
