Board Institute 101 - July 26, 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.
We would like to have all the board members of main street organizations in the Main Street Track attend our Board Institute 101. We will be offering these sessions monthly through the end of the year. If board members have already attended, they are not required to attend again. During these sessions, we cover an introduction to the Main Street Approach and Oregon Main Street, typical roles and responsibilities of all nonprofit board members, and the basics of action planning. Click here<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAqfumgrjsrHdM1ANDi6yfAjV3JBvaSJUK_>
to register for the session on July 26, 8:00 AM. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Engaging with Science on Main Street
Science can bring communities together. Whether you're observing the stars, experimenting with physics, or watching life bloom, bringing science into your Main Street programming can create unique experiences that build curiosity, discovery, and wonder among visitors and residents. Learn how three communities-Sweetwater, Tennessee; Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Los Alamos, New Mexico-have incorporated science into their work. Also, meet the Science Festival Alliance, which can help you bring the next great science event to your community. Main Street at the Capitol
Hill Days and Capitol Days are powerful tools to introduce legislators to the Main Street Movement and advocate for policies that can help us achieve our goals. Main Street America staff, Coordinating Programs, and Local Programs have been busy speaking to legislators across the nation to spread awareness and advance our collective mission. Kelly Humrichouser, Director of Government Relations, shared the results of Main Street's first Hill Day in Washington, D.C., as well as Capitol Days in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Washington. Beyond Pride - Creating an Inclusive Main Street Year-Round
The Main Street Movement is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community. Main Streets are for everyone, and we strive to make our districts welcoming and safe. While it is important to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in June, our support should also be extended year-round. We spoke to four executive directors and a Coordinator about how their programs celebrate during Pride Month and beyond. Read about the ways that they support the LGBTQ+ community and why it is important for Main Street programs to advocate for change.
