Hi everyone!
We actually allow leashed dogs at our market- not everybody appreciates that, but there are rarely issues. Parking is definitely an issue – especially since we block off an entire parking lot and 12th St. We put our bright yellow sandwich board signs up 24 hours in advance everywhere, but we almost always get a few folks that ignore them and get towed. Our public works department has been very generous in letting us borrow their signage if we need it and giving us their old signage (like their old sandwich boards) when they retire them.

I have found any issue like that to be solved with proper signage. Parking is our biggest issue with festivals and proper signage is helping immensely!

I have been using a company called Banners on the Cheap for my larger signage and it's been AMAZING. Extremely good pricing and relatively fast turnaround. I think the last vinyl sign I ordered was 10ft x 3ft w/ 6 grommets and it was just over $50 including shipping. They have a design widget if you aren't proficient on adobe illustrator or there is always canva.

Hello,

The Coos Bay Downtown Association has a no pets policy at our Farmers Market and Festivals. We do have some signs that say "No Pets, Service Animals Accepted." but it doesn't seem to help. We are looking into larger signage and other options that have helped other Main Streets with this issue. We don't want to be the pet police. What do you do to deter pets at your events? Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks
Holly
