June 2024 Newsletter LA GRANDE MAIN STREET DOWNTOWN About Us Support Our Mission Hello OMS, It’s Eastern Oregon Beer Festival time! What a fantastic way to welcome summer! The LGMSD Board, Beer Fest Committee, and volunteers have been working at warp speed to make this 10th Annual Beer Fest the most exciting and memorable event on your summer calendar. So, join us and hoist a glass on June 15th from 2 to 9 PM at the Union County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $50 for VIP admission and $35 for general admission. For tickets, click on the LGMSD website link: Eastern Oregon Beer Fest | La Grande Main Street Downtown. A NOTE FROM NICOLE FELTY, PRESIDENT, LGMSD BOARD OF DIRECTORS I want to express my gratitude to all of you who continue to support the La Grande Main Street's mission. As many of you may know, our upcoming EOBF fundraiser plays a pivotal role in our organization's sustainability. It accounts for approximately 25% of our overall budget. This support is crucial for our day-to-day operations and maintaining our accreditation level, allowing us to access Revitalization Grants that are instrumental in beautifying and preserving the historic La Grande Main Street. In addition to the upcoming EOBF fundraiser, we have an exciting lineup of events in our community. On June 15th, downtown will also host the 2nd Annual "Touch a Truck" spearheaded by La Grande Parks and Recreation in the morning, leading up to EOBF. Furthermore, we have Crazy Days 2024 coming up in July, promising even more fun and excitement for the whole community. Stay tuned for more details on these fantastic events! A NOTE FROM SARAH MARCOTTE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LGMSD Summer is a busy but beautiful month for us here at Main Street. We're getting ready for the fun of Beerfest this June 15th, and the excitements of Crazy Days and the Classic Car show coming up in July 19th and 20th. Each day is filled with new challenges and new rewards as we create this memory making occasions for the city of La Grande. I hope you're as ready for the Summer season as we are and raring to get out into the sun and celebrate! SOME COMMITTEE REPORTS Promotions Committee – Tori Gandy, Chair The Promotions Committee has been busy. Planning for the Groovy 60’s Crazy Days event July 19th & 20th is underway. We are still looking for local non-profit organizations and vendors to come showcase their services and goods. To become a vendor, call Sarah at the LGMSD office at 541-963-1223. Next up on the docket is Halloween, the Holiday Lighted Parade and the New Years Eve Ball Drop. If you are interested in helping plan any of these events, let us know! Outreach Committee – Nicole Felty, Chair We have been hard at work tackling press releases for the upcoming Eastern Oregon Beer Fest and finalizing the marketing strategy for this much-anticipated event. Looking ahead, our next big project will be the redesign of our email newsletter and member brochure. We are committed to enhancing our communications and outreach to better serve our members and the community at large. Stay tuned for updates as these designs finalize. Eastern Oregon Beer Festival Report – Sarah Marcotte & Mary Ann Miesner, Co-Chairs Beer Fest is swiftly approaching and, as we busily prepare the glasses and goodies for our visitors, there is an unmistakable kind of magic in the air. This magic comes from a community joining together in celebration and reveling in the joys of friendship, music and, of course, some delicious brews. I’m so excited to see the fun unfold right in front of me and to see all of our months of hard work and preparations instantly transform into the smiles and laughter of our guest. I feel so fortunate that I am in the position to bring events like this to the public and help support the work of La Grande Main Street Downtown.
