[OMS_MANAGERS] Convincing your city to help fund Main Street Programs

[City Club Forest Grove]

Hello everyone,

Our organization recently applied for (and was denied) a grant from our
city which we intended to use to build and implement our Main Street
Program.  It would have partially funded us for the next three years and
significantly jump-start our program.  Our city officials wrote the letter
of support for our main street application but has yet to take action to
demonstrate that support.

Do you all have tips, tricks, presentations or documentation you can share
that helped you convince your city officials to help fund the program? I
don't think they truly grasp the positive impact this program will have on
the city.

I'd also be interested in seeing if any of you would be willing to share
your story with our city council and staff to help us in communicating the
value.
