What a great article and project! Not sure if this qualifies as what you’re looking for Kristine, but in Willamina we just hosted a community visioning workshop in partnership with Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) and it was awesome. We had a great turn out and we will be holding a follow up workshop November 7 to discuss next steps on the ideas that were discussed. I attached the flyer we made for it and the article that the local publication printed about it afterward!

This month we were featured front page, w/ a 2 page spread by our countywide Ruralite. Inside our volunteers talked about some of our subcommittees and great ways to volunteer. This is published by PUD and is a community service.

The feature brought us new volunteers within a day of the mailing! And it was really fun to do together.

I’m interested to know if any of you have opportunities like this that you could share with the rest of us? Ways help get the word out in the community about helping and at no cost to the organization.
