Happy Halloween to all - hope those who hold downtown events have a terrific day! Just a few reminders:

  1.  MoM - next week Cam and I will be in an all-day Heritage division meeting so we won't have the MoM call (unless we hear from someone that you are willing to host then we can start the meeting and assign the host duties).

  1.  Small Business Survey: Please distribute info on Main Street America's Small Business Survey - see info at the end of this email. They need 300 more responses by November 7.

  1.  FREE: Fall CLG workshop is next week, Wednesday, November 6, 8:15 am - 3:30 pm, The Majestic Event Center, 976 Main Street, Dallas. The Certified Local Government (CLG) program is a National Park Service (NPS) preservation program supported by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), to do historic preservation work at the local level. Local governments establish a preservation program with a commission or board to lead the work. SHPO hosts an annual fall workshop for the CLGs.

The workshop is for staff and board/commission members of CLGs. And this year, we are inviting Oregon Main Street Network organizations to join us as the content is a perfect fit for you as well!

John Sandor, one of the Federal Historic Tax Credit reviewers from the National Park Service will be joining us to talk about standards, alternative materials, windows, storefronts and tax credits. Plus, we will have some excellent CLG sharing and example projects. And a highlight for the day will be a walking tour of the newly designated historic downtown.

Share Your Small Business Wins, Challenges, and Needs

Main Street America recently released the Small Business Success and Support Survey<https://mainstreet.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=881199cb2d0b2894c01ba06c1&id=02435c7b00&e=b22a72ae8a>, our Fall 2024 survey for small business owners nationwide. We want to hear about the wins you've had in 2024, the challenges you face, and the types of support that the Main Street America network would help you most.
