RARE AmeriCorps Program – Call for Host Organizations!

You might be surprised by what one of our amazing RARE AmeriCorps members can accomplish for your community in just 11 months! The Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) AmeriCorps Program has partnered with organizations for 30+ years to help create catalytic change in Oregon communities. Eligible organizations include cities, counties, regional governments, Tribes, special districts and nonprofits.

RARE members work on projects like helping to rebuild a wildfire-affected community; conducting critical community outreach and engagement around rural solar or broadband; creating a downtown master plan; coordinating a food trail; or helping ignite the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. To host a RARE member, each participating host organization provides a $26,500 match toward the placement, training, and support for the full-time RARE member, who lives in and serves the community for 11 months (look on our website for ways that funding amount can be offset).

Applications for interested host organizations are due by 5:00 PM on April 1, 2025.
