Email from La Grande Main Street Downtown Lots of candy, great costumes, and fun for all LA GRANDE MAIN STREET DOWNTOWN About Us Support Our Mission Hello OMS, Our 2025 Halloween Safe Trick or Treat was so special, it deserved its own edition. So, travel back briefly in time and revisit all of the delights! First of all, a heartfelt thank you everyone for making this one Spooktacular Halloween! From the 45+ candy hander-outers to the spirited adults and families and costumed kiddos who filled downtown with joy — you made it unforgettable. We’re especially grateful to: • Downtown merchants and visiting businesses who welcomed trick-or-treaters with open arms • Local public safety teams — La Grande Police & Fire Departments, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and La Grande Public Works — for keeping the young and young at heart entertained and informed • Community partners like the Oregon Army National Guard, OTEC, and area fitness centers for their enthusiastic support • Medical and wellness organizations, including Grande Ronde Hospital and other healthcare heroes • Timber Cruisers Car Club for adding classic flair to the festivities • Churches and nonprofits from across the region who showed up with generosity and spirit • Blue Mountain Humane Association, BACA, Eastern Oregon Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and other service groups who helped make the day extra special And a special shout out to City Manager John O'Brien, who emceed our Costume Contest with wit and flair! And speaking of the Costume Contest--here are the winners: Here are your Costume Contest Winners: Ages 0–6 Rubber Duck in the Bathtub – Callum Melville Moose – Joah Mira Montes Ages 7–12 Vikings – Kaine and Kinley Helfrich Country Musicians – Macabee and Shepard Ewing Ages 13–18 Nurse – (She vanished before we could get her name!) Wizard of Oz Ensemble • Dorothy – Mackenzie Goss • Scarecrow – Ella Hovingh • Lion – Rebecca Austin • Tin Man – Lily Troutman  Group/Family Alex Koiv and Ari Roberts Pirates – Christian, Marie, and Henry Bennett with their trusty pup Ziggy And that's a wrap on the 2025 Halloween Safe Trick or Treat! Next up--the 2025 Monkeys on the Run Holiday Parade of Lights on November 28th at 6 PM up and down Adams Avenue from Hemlock to Max Square with Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Tree Lighting! See you there... We're always looking for volunteers!
