National Trust Preservation Fund Grants Available for Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon & Washington<br>

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is inviting applications from nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)3 status, as well as local governments and public agencies, for its National Trust Preservation Fund/ NTPF grants<<a href="http://www.preservationnation.org/resources/find-funding/nonprofit-public-funding.html" target="_blank">http://www.preservationnation.org/resources/find-funding/nonprofit-public-funding.html</a>>. Matching grants from the NTPF are awarded annually in three competitive rounds - February 1, June 1, and October 1 - and may be used for a variety of preservation projects such as: feasibility studies or historic structures reports for endangered buildings and sites; landscape research and planning; fund-raising and media campaigns; and interpretation and heritage education activities. Actual "bricks and mortar" construction, repair and rehabilitation work are not eligible. The grants typically range from $3,000 to $5,000 and require dollar-for-dollar match. The next round closes on February 1st, 2011 (postmarked, not received).<br>

The Hart Fund was established in 2004 to assist small town preservation and revitalization initiatives around the country, with a focus on towns with population of 5,000 or less. It operates within the framework of the NTPF grants - same application, same eligibility requirements, same match requirements - a one to one match. Moreover, the 2011 round of the Mitchell Fund has been replenished with additional funding, which will allow us to fund more projects than in the past few years. In the past, funded activities have included paint analysis, the conservation of textiles, historic furnishing plans, a<br>
nd fundraising plans; but the Trust is always looking for more creative projects that go beyond the usual activities associated with historic interiors.
