<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">The Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) is offering “Diamonds in the Rough” grants to restore or reconstruct the facades of buildings that have been heavily altered over the years. The emphasis is on commercial buildings in historic downtown districts.</FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><o:p><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">The grants provide financial support for projects such as<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>exposing transom windows, removing aluminum or wood paneling that covers the original features, and restoring missing decorative features like cornices.</FONT></P>
