<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>Oregon Main Street, administered by the State Historic Preservation Office (Oregon Parks and Recreation Department), is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards. All communities participating in the Oregon Main Street Network (Performing Main Street, Transforming Downtown, Exploring Downtown, and Affiliate) may submit nominations. Awards will be presented during a special ceremony at the Oregon Main Street Conference, October 3-5, in Corvallis. <BR> <BR>To be eligible, all projects, activities, or events submitted for recognition must be completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>The Historic Preservation League of Oregon (HPLO) is offering scholarships to Oregon residents and full-time students in an Oregon university to attend the 2012 National Preservation Conference in Spokane. </P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>The conference, which runs October 31 through November 3, will feature a range of educational sessions, field trips, affinity programs, and activities all related to the preservation of historic places. This year, the annual conference will focus heavily on sustainability, diversity, public lands, and reimagining historic sites. </P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>The scholarship will provide reimbursement for costs associated with attending the conference, including registration fees, travel, lodging, and food. HPLO will accept applications from June 18 - July 15 and will announce decisions by phone on July 27.
