<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Plantagenet Cherokee","serif";color:black">Quandt, currently the assistant manager of the association, was up against a field of well-qualified candidates from across the country. But the search committee, made
up of the MDA board and other community members, including city manager Martha Meeker and chamber president Nathan Knottingham, concluded she was the best person for the job.</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Plantagenet Cherokee","serif";color:black">She holds an undergraduate degree in urban planning and economic development from University of Washington, and a masters in historic preservation from Clemson University.
Named the chamber’s 2015 emerging leader, she has immersed herself in the community since her arrival in June 2014. She takes over as manager upon the retirement of Cassie Sollars on March 4.</span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
