<p class="MsoNormal">The State Transportation and Growth Management Department has a technical assistance grant program which is useful for downtown planning. You have to approach it from a land use and transportation perspective, but it’s all the same idea:
what mix of uses will maximize the economic vitality of the downtown and how do we ensure good traffic flow while creating a safe, welcoming environment for pedestrians and bicyclists? At a minimum you can use it to examine your main street streetscape or
do similar targeted studies. I tried to fund a parking study through them a while ago and got turned down.<o:p></o:p></p>
