When we used them for lighting up trees, the cords were often cut/vandalized, and folks figured out that they could plug in their cell phones, electric blankets, etc. into the plugs under the grates in the tree wells. We run the wires to specific spots on the trees where we attach C7 sockets onto the wire. We use C7 warm white acrylic random twinkle bulbs (last forever for the most part and easy to replace).
