<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Oregon Nonprofit Law changes: what nonprofits need to know<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">You might have seen notices of changes to Oregon Nonprofit Law effective January 1, 2020. Attached is a tip sheet that describes some of the changes to ORS Chapter 65 (as well as a copy of Senate Bill 360). A little background, a work group
of the Oregon State Bar reviewed ORS Chapter 65 and identified areas that needed clarification or modernization (e.g., there was still reference to notification by telegraph).<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Overtime Rule changes<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The other change that might affect some of our main street organizations are changes to the Federal Overtime Rule for executive, administrative, or professional employees. The Rule adjusts the salary level test, part of a three-part test
for determining when white-collar employees are exempt or must be paid overtime for working more than 40 hours in a week. Anyone being compensated less than $35,500 per year will have to be paid time-and-a-half overtime regardless of job duties starting in
