a few iterations of the regulation in the past 15 years.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">After completing a downtown plan, as we were drafting the implementing regulations, the Planning Commission wanted to continue to regulate color in the downtown
area and keep the “earth tone” theme, so I developed the following language in the Code:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

they were printed from. So the application of the palette was “liberally applied” when a new coat of paint went up on a downtown building.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">A few years ago the Design Committee of the Main St group approached the City with a suggested amendment to make the regulation and application of the regulation
more clear. They produced some foam boards with actual paint chips that define the acceptable color ranges. The language in our Code now says:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

the foam board. While I have no allegiance to any one brand of paint, I do note that Sherwin Williams does identify the Light Reflecting Value of each color on their paint chips. I keep the complete Sherwin Williams paint wheel in the office and can compare
a chip from other brands to Sherwin Williams colors and determine compliance with the LRV requirement.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
