Floral to free up the space adjacent to The Pix Theatre to create its amazing lobby (history).

We had a liquior store Downtown on 4th Ave., a couple of blocks from our prime retail. A few years ago, it moved to North Albany to be inside the new grocery store which also has an Ace Hardware inside it. While it’s great to
shop fr groceries and liquor in one top, I’ve gotta say don’t love the smell of the paint department when I’m grabbing milk. As a Downtown resident, I see it as a loss as I now have to travel further for my quarterly shopping. I didn’t have any interaction
with it as a Downtown manager.

OLCC just approved a liquor store in Oregon City and because of our mixed use code, the liquor store will be moving into one of our best retail spots in downtown. It's probably too late to do anything about this one - the City Commission
even disapproved their license for a downtown location and the OLCC overrode it - but my EV committee is interested in seeing if there were any other communities that have dealt with this or found a good solution.
