have awarded two façade grants.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The Wildflour Public House was awarded a combined Façade Improvement Grant and Redevelopment Assistance Grant totaling $49,930. Tara and John Moore co-own Wildflour at 1989 Sherman Avenue in
historic downtown, which has operated as a café in North Bend since February 2018. The couple plans to convert its café to a pub and expand into the former Dirty Work space next door. The expansion will provide more seating, a full bar, and room for brewing
beer to become North Bend’s first brewery. Wildflour’s façade improvements include a garage door and indoor/outdoor bar with casual seating. Industrial Steel & Supply will transform the existing cafe awning into a backlit metal sign featuring Wildflour’s logo.
The redevelopment project is forecast to create seven new jobs, a public pub house, and a new cafe/banquet/meeting facility.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left:0in;mso-add-space:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">
<span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">William and Stephane Sario, owners of 2051 Sherman Avenue (aka Simpkins Music, Yesteryear Books, Moose Lodge, or The Gown Shop), were awarded a $25,000 façade grant. The award will assist the
property owners in renovating the façade to look similar to how it was built originally, with windows and the top and wood siding, including some very old-looking wood corbels found inside the building. The Devereux Center hopes to open this summer and is
preparing to begin the installation of the interior finishes.<o:p></o:p></span></li></ul>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Mother’s Day on Main Street Event:</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> The event successfully brought foot traffic, exposure,
and sales to downtown North Bend while celebrating Moms. Organizer Stephanie Wilson of The Painted Zebra spoke with some businesses for feedback: “They were happy with the event and are already looking forward to the next downtown event.” Stephanie said some
of the downtown participating merchants reported transactions “double to triple what they usually do on a Saturday.” A few retailers said the event brought their “highest number of sales for one day in a long time.” The event also featured specials for Moms
in celebration of Mother’s Day. Some 40 Moms visited the North Bend Public Library for its interactive events while issuing new library cards to some of their guests. Participants’ overall feedback was positive, and some businesses saw an uptick in foot traffic
as high as 200 customers. Merchants witnessed smiles and laughing as event-goers walked the streets with their family and friends. The Liberty Theatre, home of the Little Theatre on the Bay, reported 60 patrons through its doors during the two hours it opened,
giving away free popcorn, chair massages, and displaying their new “Moms Room.” The event presented an opportunity for visibility to prospective customers who might otherwise not have known they were located in downtown North Bend. The event received publicity
from Coos Events (dot com), KVAL, Public Now (dot com), Facebook, the city’s website, KMTR, The World Newspaper, K-DOCQ Radio, Spot on Oregon, Newsbreak (dot com), the Community Plus app, KCBY, among others. Both winners of the gift baskets valued at $500+
are local and will potentially lead to future sales in downtown North Bend. Thank you to the participants, media, nonprofits, and merchants for a fantastic event. Downtown North Bend looks forward to seeing everyone for Mother’s Day on Main Street next year.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
