<p class="MsoNormal">This is a <u>proposed </u>amount. It is our mission now is to advocate and get others to advocate for the program and for this amount with our legislative representatives. The lottery bills usually get heard later in the session so we
may not know for certain if this is the amount the Legislature will settle on for some time.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">But yes the key is to touch base with our legislators on what this funding has provided for our communities in the past, why more is needed to meet the needs and how we have effectively and efficiently been good custodians of the dollars
made available in the past.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">So good news or at least good start. We need to play our part to help it become reality. That means not only sharing the news with others but encourage them to pitch in as well in moving this forward.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Governor Kotek proposed $20 million in lottery bond dollars to fund the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant for the 2023-2025 biennium. The grant program and fund were established in 2015 by the Oregon legislature. The legislature has
since funded the program through the lottery bond package:<o:p></o:p></p>

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3">2015 (for 2017 awards) - $2.5 million<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3">2017 (for 2019 awards) - $5 million<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3">2019 (for 2021 awards) - $5 million, the bond sale was canceled due to impacts of COVID<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3">2021 (for 2022 & 2023 awards) - $10 million<o:p></o:p></li></ul>

<p class="MsoNormal">The grant program is coordinated through the State Historic Preservation Office and Oregon Main Street Network part of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD). The proposed funding is included in the OPRD’s Governor recommended budget.
