We did a workshop at the OMS Conference back in October that explored this very idea … and we even did a temporary application of 8 bump outs at one of our downtown intersections!

building adoption for what many will consider radical change, the specific materials to use, etc. Andrew’s email is

<div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Good Morning All,<br>
<br>
We are exploring the idea of painting some of our downtown crosswalks here in Independence and I’m starting to research different paint/chalk options. I’m curious to hear from others who have completed a similar project in their downtowns.
<br>
<br>
We’re still trying to figure out if there’s a temporary paint option out there to test the idea before we use real paint so if anyone has tried doing something temporary for an event, I would love to hear what products you used. So far, not a lot of luck in
finding info about this online. If we decide to go the paint route, I’m also curious to know about how long the paint stays “perfect” before you have to paint over it again, (the crosswalks are on a side street of our downtown, but still see quite a bit of
traffic). And if there some product/technique out there that will strip/remove the paint if we don’t want to continue the project? Would love to hear any golden nuggets of wisdom from you all!
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Apple Color Emoji"">🙂</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><br>
<br>
Thanks for any help! <br>
<br>
Warmly, <br>
Courtney <o:p></o:p></span></p>
