We have about 5-6 people in our town that volunteer for everything, and then another 5-6 that can be counted in to helping really needed. Without those precious few volunteers, nothing gets done. In years gone by, there used to be far more community interest and involvement. <div>Is it the internet? Apathy? People too busy with work? Kids sports? Something is wrong here. The volunteers have a golf cart with a 50 gallon water tank equipped with a pump and sprayer. They make their rounds morning and evening, and there is always someone stopping to visit! It seriously builds good will within the community. This reminds me - I have pruned roses in a vacant lot for a few years now and it is time to do that again! We also have a community member that can be seen pushing his lawnmower around town, mowing the yards of elderly or disabled folks that can’t get it done themselves. <br>

No money or equipment means time to get some volunteers.<br>
