We haven’t initiated this type of program in Downtown Corvallis during my time because there is already a good canopy in many areas, but it will likely be a goal of a potential Downtown URA district to improve upon. It’s one of the classic placemaking efforts
of new urbanism but communities should be careful about the types of trees planted to limit damage to sidewalk areas. </div>
