[Opds-contracts] Jon Rapping zoom talk with Oregon PD's 10/2 at noon

Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is doing as well as you can be given all of the issues we are dealing with as a community.  I know we could all use some inspiration right now, so I am very excited to announce that MPD will host a book tour event with Jon Rapping, the founder and President of Gideon's Promise, on Friday October 2nd from noon to one for public defenders across Oregon.  I worked with Jon at the D.C. Public Defender Service from 1998-2001.  He is a passionate, dedicated, and inspirational public defender.
Since then, Jon has been a tremendous advocate for public defenders and the transformation of the criminal legal system in a multitude of ways.  Here is a link to his bio:  https://www.gideonspromise.org/jonathan-rapping/   His vision is critically important to making progress in public defense.
He recently released his book Gideon's Promise:  A Public Defender Movement to Transform Criminal Justice.  Next Friday, he will discuss his book and inspire all of us.
