[Willamette Valley Open Burning Announcement]

SUBJECT:	OPEN BURNING ANNOUNCEMENT

FROM:		ODF METEOROLOGIST

Burning advisory for: Monday, June 15th, 2009 

Agricultural burning:
  Based on air quality considerations agricultural burning is allowed.  
  Suggested burn times are from 12:00pm to 7:30pm.

Backyard burning inside special control areas:
  Based on air quality considerations backyard burning is allowed from 12:00pm to 7:30pm.

Individuals must contact their local fire department for specific information.

Note:  As per agreement between Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Oregon Department of Forestry and Oregon Department of Agriculture, ODA will begin issuing the daily Willamette Valley Open Burn Announcement beginning with the announcement valid for June 16th.  

You may notice a slight change in format and issue times will be different, but otherwise the switch from ODF to ODA should be transparent to end users.  Both agencies use the same mailing list service provided by the Oregon State Library.  Thus if you're receiving the Open Burn Announcement now you will continue to receive it with no action on your part. 

ODA will issue the Open Burn Advisory through September at which point ODF will take over the duties again for fall, winter and spring.
