An update to the SEIU New Hire notification process.
Heather Conroy has accepted a new position in the Union and as such will
no longer be receiving new hire notices. In her place, please send
notice of new hires to the interim Field Director Barbara Kellogg at
kellogg at opeuseiu.org or via regular mail to her attention at SEIU Local
503, 488 East 11th Avenue, Ste B100, Eugene, OR 97401.
Please review the process stated in the May 17th email, and notify her
as appropriate. Thank you.
Sent on 5/17/10:
An email (sited below) was sent on April 19 2010 from our office
reminding agencies of the new hire notice requirements in the SEIU
Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Several agencies reported their process was to notify the Union steward
of the new hire(s). While this is acceptable to the Union, the official
notification needs to go to Heather Conroy.
You can provide the information directly to Heather via email at
conroyh at opeuseiu.org <mailto:conroyh at opeuseiu.org> or via regular mail
to her attention at 6401 SE Foster Road, Portland, OR 97206.
E-mail from April 19:
"Please remember that per the CBA (cited below) the Union should receive
notice when your agency hires newly represented staff.
SEIU CBA Article 10, Section 14(c).
The Agency shall furnish monthly to the Union a list of new employees
hired into positions represented by the Union. The list shall contain
the name, classification, date of employment, transfer if known, and
worksites of the new employees."
