Adding to this, I have Netscape 6.0 on my Desktop simply because some
sites require it but I use v 4.79 except when Internet Explorer is
required. The difference is that Netscape has its own mailer integrated
into the browser (and it hasn't been a target of virii like Outlook
Express), it has more features to customize, and I can switch back
and forth between the browser and the mailer without having to start
up one or the other all over again. My research with the browser goes
into an email either to myself to put into a folder, or out to someone
I'm trying to help by email, without waiting for page loading back and
forth.

Netscape has a nice little program called SmartDownload that takes over
any downloading. You can pause it and restart, or if your server
connection is broken, it will restart and pick up where it left off
instead of having to start over. That comes in handy when you've gone
to bed with a download in progress and get up the next morning to find
only a partial download. It's FREE!!

I prefer plain text messages because they take up less memory, but also
because I can read them without being connected to my server. It's a
pain to be scrolling down my messages and have my browser interrupt to
reconnect just because I've landed on a message in html. Different strokes
for different folks.

I don't claim to be the brightest crayon in the box but agree with Walt
that we owe it to ourselves to keep moving with the flow. There are
better things to take up RAM than screensavers and cutesy junk. Cnet has
a lot of freeware utilities that are worthwhile, too.

One thing, Walt..... what is beauty sleep? Where do I get it and does it
work? :-)
