[or-roots] virus oops

I second Cecils admonition Teresa, I finally learned not to trust any
warning, I never send any thing on that comes with the admonition to " send
this to everyone in your address book" unless it is a good joke or just
plain common sense. I got one of the latter a while back I probably should
send along, it is advice for women about avoiding assaults, but usually when
folks send me things to forward i just dump them and I always check virus
and similar warnings out with a search engine. I have a computer wonk cousin
that dissed me a couple of times for forwarding things without checking them
out and then she sent me a warning about some #94 or some such thing on cel
phones and I checked it out and half the sites I went to said it was a hoax
and half of them said it was for real and the most reliable seeming sources
were the ones that said hoax and it turned out to be one, but she had gotten
the info from her cel service provider!!

It is sad that with this wonderfull means of disseminating info, so many
chose to use it for disinfo instead
