[or-roots] Brick walls and "unscribe"

Hi or-rooters:

For some reason things have seemed to have come to a "both
feet on the brake petal" stop on or-roots in 2002.... as compared
to years past.  Some of this may due to "brick walls".  A few have
"unscribed" because they do NOT understand the value of the work
that our dear Linda has put into posting the obits in the Eugene
area.  Let me address this first.

I look through the obits that Linda posts, and then send them to
the "trash" folder.  BUT!!!!!  In two of her posts I found connections
to people who were important to me!  One a teacher; the other a
class mate in grade school (both from the 1950's).  How about
that for an "out of the blue"?!

Because I have so many ancestors who settled in OR/WA in the
last half of the 1800's, I believe that I must be related to most
people who are descendants of folks from that area/era.  This
brings up the brick wall(s).

Some of you may know that my great grandmother, Martha Jane
Ford, married one George A. Rulaford.  You may also know that
this rat's name was, in fact, Edgar McMullen; brick wall NUMBER
ONE for me.  You would think that because Martha Jane Ford was
the first "white" girl born in the Walla Walla Valley that we would
know more about her and George/Edgar.  Wrong!  This will be a
tough one for me.

Some of my "brick walls" have been broken down by posting
my GEDCOM on RootsWeb "WorldConnect Project".  This is
free; and I own no stock in any internet company; I do hold a
few shares of TEK stock.  :-)

So "unscribe" if you must, but hang in if you will.
