Just because I know how to turn my html editor off and on < :) > and
how to use it when turned on, doesn't mean that I advocate anything but
plain text, especially for these mailing lists.
And on sharing opinions -- I should have noted that that I was referring
to html vs plain text e-mail for public list serves.
Yes, it is interesting to note that the graphic went through both times
...
As to the archives, and saving your own -- I don't believe the archives
of this list from before the latest server/software changeover are
available through the current archive system. Does anyone know how to
access them?
ie, take Hollie H. Breeden -- when did Hollie die and is Hollie a male
or female? The info was on this list in July of 2001. Or, where could I
find more information about about Martha Baker's 1990 death?
It would be my opinion that in this day and age of instant death by
budget committee, obsoleteness by technological achievement, etc,
depending on a government agency for archival access has some certain
risks involved ...
I've got some good stuff on 8" floppies -- anyone got the hardware to
read them? The same thing will happen to CD's ... And what about the
archival quality of all those hard copies you have in binders -- is the
printer ink even waterproof? Probably not.
enuf.
