hello, Yes I believe this to be my ggreat grandparents. george was from
england not sure what part and mary from illinois that was where she
was born and married.  I have found george and mary in 1860 census and
mary in 1870 and 1880 she goes by mary parrish in 1880 also widowed. 
when I looked up illinois marriages before 1850 I only found a george
clark and mary creel who married 19 nov 1841 morgan co. illinois.  
james gustavus is my great grandfather who was one in 1860 census. he
married eliza huff in douglas co. yoncolla. that is where my
grandfather ray was born in 1885.  I was trying to find a obiturary on
george to see if would tell when he came to usa and what part of
england he was from.    dorothy

Let me just add a note, Dorothy, that I hesitated at first to send the
data as the 1860 census for George & Mary CLARK showed a dau
Julia P. age 5 born in ILL where 7 of the 9 children were born, but in
1870 census, she is shown as 15-OR same as Benjamin B 13-OR;
James 12-OR; Lorrain 5-OR & Mary A 2-OR so 1860 census must
have been in error. By 1870, George does not appear in census with
rest of the family but no indication that Mary A 45-IL is a widow, just
shows 45-IL keeps house $2.500.

that name listed in the Index of the 1860 Lane Co., OR censu:,

hello my gggrandfather george clark come to cottage grove in the 1850s
he was in the 1860 census with a child being born 3 years earlier in
oregon.  I am trying to find out what year they came to oregon. in what
wagon train.  I know that one of the female relatives was killed with a
