Eugene:

You should remember the East Wind blowing so hard around Crown Point that the cars would end up in the ditch and even the tow cars wouldn't go out to rescue them as they would end up there also.

I lived near Fairview and in the winter we usually got an extra week off because the school bus couldn't get through; those were the days when we had the bus before that we walked to school if we couldn't get a ride with a neighbor.  How could in those open air cars.
