Sharon;
I think list Mom has granted us a Christmas dispensation to wander a bit
afield from "genealogy" historical stuff should be allowable anyway and
anyone over fifty years old in Oregon qualifies as an antique so most of the
last off topic blitz sort of qualifies. On that note I can't resist
recalling how my Dad ruined the "fun" of snowstorms for me when I was about
eight years old. I was exulting that it was snowing hard and surely school
would be closed at about bed time and his response "fine if you get to stay
home from school becasue of snow you can feed the sheep for the duration!"
Well school was closed for two weeks and I had to slog half a mile or so
through the snow twice a day to feed the *&$*)&$% meadow maggots in my
wannabe rubber boots that were about six inches shorter than the depth of
the snow. I never really got a kick out of snow again after that until my
dear wife and I were playing in snow with our son.
See I can give almost any topic a genealogical hook!
