[or-roots] OT - other names for the telephone

If this list can tolerate one more off topic post, I am looking for
another name for the telephone, now rather obsolete and obscure -- it is
a name sort of like calling a radio a 'Marconi', but of course that is
wireless, and I'm talking about the old-fashioned wired telephone.

If you know the answer to the question, you will know what I am talking
about ...
