Dear Virgene,

Thank you for your help. I will puzzle through this. I still think he
was as bogus as pink fog.
He probably was so frightened of his father, he gave everyone a
fictitious name, and no more
details.
My mom told me a story that my grandmother, had told her. It seems after
my great-grandfather
and great-grandmother were married, a young woman, came out from Tennesee
and found
my great-grandfather. She said her name was Lottie Gray. He said he had
never heard of her, and
that was that.
I don't know the time differential on this. It could have been many
years after his marriage to my
great-grandmother. It could be this young woman could have been born
after my great-great
grandfather returned from the war, or that she may have been a daughter
of one of his brothers.
I think I checked once and I thought there were several counties in and
around Nashville. But that
Davidson was the main one. I am probably wrong.
I wish I could afford to take a trip back there and do some research in
person. But can't do that.
Maybe someday.
Well, thank you again. I will keep trying.

Sincerely,

Karla Williams
