After advising that the Sweet Home web site had been resurrected,
I received an interesting e-mail about one of the sponsors of the new
web page. There was something mentioned about the size of the
doughnuts sold there. Something about toil... I'll not go into that, but...
Some 50 years ago, I and some pals, would go through THE alley
in Sweet Home (between Main and Long Streets) and look through
the trash for things of value. The bakery (on Main St) always tossed
the cakes that were not fit for sale; the old ones or the ones that were
broken and could not be sold.
I'll not gross you out, but I think that if there had been any "homeless"
persons in Sweet Home at the time they would have had a feast. We
did.
