In 1864, Albert and Mary Schneider and children walked the Oregon Trail from
Muscatine, IA to Silverton, Oregon. My connection is to Mary Mahrer (aka
Mohr) from Switzerland. My greatgrandmother, Franziska, was her sister. I
am interested in finding out about the trail they took. The only thing I
know is that they passed the Platte River. I also wondered what trail they
were on to reach Silverton, OR.
The descendants of Albert and Mary are listed:
Mary Mathilda married Lawrence Eisenhardt (Eizenhardt). Lawrence died and
she remarried to Benjamin Austin Jacobs.
Albert Schneider married Ella Jack, Marion County.
Daryl Schneider married Sarah E. ? and they lived in Dallas, Polk County.
Lloyd Schneider married Bessie ? and they lived in Dallas, Polk County.
Irvin married Sarah Thomas, Marion County, lived in Salt Creek Precinct,
Polk County in 1920.
Philomena Schneider married Abner David Gardner, Jr. They lived in Fox
Valley, Linn County.
Edward Schnieder lived in Washington.
Harvey Schneider died in Clackamas County, Sandy, OR
Other Schneiders lived in Washington; i.e., Spokane.
There are also descendants of Eisenhardts, Jacobs, and Gardners.
Through the Mahrer line, there are several sets of twins in this family.
Any information is appreciated. Thank you.
