My Sister-in-law just sent me a link to a part of this web site which I
would recommend everyone study thoroughly, but definitely go to at least the
main link on the following page;
http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/fraud/fraud.htm
I think this subject has come up before on the list, but I don't recall
knowing that there was so MUCH intentionally fraudlulent genealogical
material circulating, or else last time I was too lazy or hurried to really
look at it.
For all of you who consider yourselves "serious" genealogists who are not
familiar with the Anjou forgeries, this site is a must. I also have learned
that I have been misleading folks when I have passed on my pearls of wisdom
and was advising that much of my material was from internet "sources" and
therefore should be taken with a grain of salt.
These folks point out that if it is not original material; vital records,
census, baptismal, church or bible record etc, it is NOT a "source"
therefore in much of my material I cite sources that should be more properly
called "origins" until I can prove or disprove the information from these
"sources" and again I apologize for anyone I might have led astray.
Interestingly they have elsewhere at this site a query about the infamous
"Grace Wheeler" ma. Thomas Brooks which someone has partially answered thus;
