Sounds like LDS succumbed to the pressure of the scammers and bought the
domain name to protect the integrity of their own site. Which is
precisely the main objective of these domain name scammer/theives, such
as the ones mentioned for AncestralQuest, RootsWeb GenSeeker, and now
the LDS FamilySearch.

I suspect that when that information was posted, it was correct at that
point in time. I have not previously seen any LDS information that
familyserch.org and familysearch.com were synonamous, so I suspect that
has been a recent transaction.
