I am in New Orleans, (ok, you don't have to groan quite so loudly <G>), so 
will have to check when I get back.

I know I have it at least two of the three ways you mention.  The woman and 
her husband who currently own the Elk City Store, (whose name I forget, told 
me some "Howry's" live between Elk City and Toledo. She thought they might be 
kin to Dan, but as I recall Dan had no children, so perhaps he was an uncle.

I also have, when I get back, a long view of Elk City, turn of the previous 
century.  Maybe 1911.  Perhaps it will be useful also. 

I'll write when I get back home next week.
